Latest WKF World Rankings. 🌟 World Top 10 for Galliano Boni 🌍
St Andrew’s College, Makhanda (Grahamstown) is bursting with pride as we celebrate a historic moment in South African sport.
🥋 Congratulations to Galliano Boni, who has been named Eastern Cape Karateka of the Year. It’s a title befitting a young athlete whose dedication and excellence continue to inspire.
📈 According to the latest WKF World Rankings, Galliano now stands among the Top 10 globally in Kumite. He also ranks 22nd in Kata, making him the No. 1 combined (Kata & Kumite) karate athlete in the world. This extraordinary milestone marks the first time a South African karateka has ever achieved this feat. This is a moment of national pride and global recognition.
🏆 At the Eastern Cape Sports Awards held in Port Elizabeth, Galliano was honoured not only for his stellar performances throughout 2025, but also for the character he brings to the sport. His humility in victory, grace in defeat, and relentless commitment to training — much of which he undertakes independently — were celebrated as hallmarks of a true champion.
💬 “Galliano exemplifies everything we stand for at St Andrew’s — courage, discipline, and humility,” said a school official. “He’s not just winning medals; he’s setting a gold standard for youth sport.”
We salute Galliano’s unwavering spirit and the example he sets for young athletes across South Africa as well as beyond. His journey is a testament to what’s possible when talent meets tenacity.
✨ Keep shining, Galliano — the world is watching.
