KZN Schools Provincial Swimming. Creston College is incredibly proud to highlight the exceptional performances of Gemma Allchin and Emma Thompson at the KZN Schools Provincial Swimming Trials, held at the stunning new venue on the Marine Parade.
On Day 1, Gemma Allchin, Creston’s Head Girl, swam brilliantly, earning a Bronze Medal in the 50m Breaststroke. Competing against tough competition, Gemma’s determination and perseverance set the tone for a fantastic start to her trials. On Day 2, Gemma continued her exceptional form, clinching the Silver Medal in the 100m Breaststroke, securing Bronze in the 50m Breaststroke, and achieving an impressive 4th place in the 200m Breaststroke. Gemma’s consistent hard work and dedication to her swimming journey have truly paid off, and we are incredibly proud of her outstanding achievements.
It was also wonderful to have another Creston swimmer, Emma Thompson, attend the trials. Emma was given a late call-up on Thursday when KZN Aquatics decided to add a second qualifying time for the team, making room for about 50 additional swimmers to attend the event. This gesture was especially meaningful for the younger swimmers, giving them the chance to compete and gain valuable experience. Emma’s adaptability and resilience in stepping up at the last minute were truly inspiring.
Both Gemma and Emma’s performances are a testament to their hard work, resilience, and love for the sport. We are proud of everything they’ve accomplished and the inspiration they bring to the Creston community. Congratulations, Gemma and Emma! Keep shining and continuing to inspire us all with your passion and dedication to swimming!
