KZN Karate. Karate Champs Bring Home the Honour!
Durban, South Africa – Creston College is bursting with pride following the outstanding achievements of two of its students at the South Africa Open Championships 2025. The championships were held in Durban on Friday, 20 and Saturday, 21 June.
Grade 5 learner Sarah Sahli showcased remarkable skill and determination as she represented the KwaZulu-Natal provincial team. She also earned a silver medal for her impressive performance. Her success didn’t end there. At the prestigious Karate South Africa (KSA) Awards Night, Sarah was also honoured with multiple Certificates of Merit for her accomplishments in karate. She also received both her KSA Development Colours and KSA Colours for the 2024–2025 season. This is an extraordinary feat for such a young athlete.
Equally deserving of recognition is Sarah’s brother, Emir Sahli, a Grade 11 learner at Creston College. Emir was commended at the KSA Awards Night with a Certificate of Merit for his dedication and excellence in karate. He was awarded his KSA Colours for 2024–2025, a mark of distinction that highlights his commitment, discipline, and outstanding contribution to the sport.
Creston College celebrates these accomplishments with immense pride. The Sahli siblings have exemplified hard work, perseverance, and the true spirit of martial arts, bringing honour not only to their province but also to their school community.
