Erries het die loot gewen en besluit om eerste te boul. Hoërskool Ermelo se krieket span neem drie paaltjies in die eerste drie beurte. Al drie paaltjies is deur Adriaan Davel ingepalm. Hy eindig met ‘n boulsyfers van 3/19 in vier boulbeurte.
Middelburg veg terug en eindig met ’n totaal van 135/7 in hul 20 beurte. Daarna kolf die Erries en begin sterk deur ’n telling van 100 lopies in die veertiende boulbeurt op die telbord te sit met slegs drie paaltjies plat. MHS se krieket span plaas egter baie druk op die stertkantkolwers en neem gereeld paaltjies.
Erries byt oudergewoonte vas en wen die krieket wedstryd met twee paaltjies in die negentiende beurt. Rynard Herholdt, die kolwer blink uit met ’n telling van 50 lopies van slegs 36 balle.
Die Erries speel teen Hoërskool Nelspruit in die Mpumalanga finaal.

EHS cricket beats MHS in semi-final
Cricket – Ermelo High School’s second cricket team maintained their winning record. They faced Middelburg High School in the semi-finals of the Mpumalanga League.
Erries won the toss and decided to bowl first. Ermelo High School’s cricket team took three wickets in the first three innings. All three wickets were bagged by Adriaan Davel. He finished with bowling figures of 3/19 in four overs.
Middelburg fought back, finishing with a total of 135/7 in their 20 innings. Then the Erries batted and started strong by putting a score of 100 runs on the scoreboard in the fourteenth over with only three wickets flat.
However, MHS’s cricket team puts a lot of pressure on the tail-end batsmen and regularly takes wickets. Erries stuck around old-timers and won the cricket match by two wickets in the nineteenth innings. Rynard Herholdt, the batsman excelled with a score of 50 runs from just 36 balls.
The Erries will play against Nelspruit High School in the Mpumalanga final.
