Head Boy 2025 – HeronBridge College

Head Boy 2025: Caleb Webb – HeronBridge College, Fourways, Gauteng. As part of Schools That Rock’s ongoing tradition of engaging with the head leaders of high schools across South Africa, we are pleased to feature Caleb Webb, Head Boy of HeronBridge College for 2025.

Caleb expresses great enthusiasm for his role, viewing it as an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the school community. He aspires to serve as a positive influence and to implement long-held ideas that he believes will leave a lasting and constructive legacy. His ambitions include cultivating strong public speaking skills and mastering the art of balancing academic, athletic, and leadership responsibilities.

A sense of belonging

He is particularly committed to ensuring that every student at HeronBridge feels heard and represented. Promoting school spirit, inclusivity, and a sense of belonging are among his key objectives for the year. Caleb highlights the school’s foundational value of integrity, embodied in its Latin motto ad integretatum. He notes that these principles are deeply rooted in the school’s original vision and continue to shape its culture today.

Describing HeronBridge as a supportive and welcoming environment, Caleb likens it to a second family. It is a community where meaningful relationships flourish. He advocates for initiatives such as Sports For Lives. It is a national campaign aimed at encouraging first teams to play for causes greater than competition, while building bridges with underprivileged communities like LIV Village in Lanseria.

Academic excellence

In encouraging prospective students to consider HeronBridge, Caleb invites them to experience a typical school day. He also believes the school offers a rare combination of academic excellence, Christian values, rich extracurricular opportunities, and a beautiful campus along the Jukskei River. With its diverse student body and the recent addition of a boys’ boarding facility, HeronBridge continues to grow as a dynamic and inclusive institution.

When asked about his leadership style, Caleb attributes his strength to a servant-hearted mindset. He believes effective collaboration stems from a clear, shared vision, strong communication, and accountability. Understanding individual team members and aligning their strengths with appropriate responsibilities is, in his view, essential for successful leadership.

Caleb cites his father as his greatest role model, admiring his entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering guidance.

His favorite meal is sweet and sour pork. If he were a kitchen appliance, he humorously identifies as a blender. It is energetic, inventive, and reliable, capable of bringing diverse elements together to create something new and exciting.

Looking ahead, Caleb aspires to a career in industrial engineering. He is considering enrolling at Stellenbosch University but has also applied to the University of Pretoria for the same program, as well as to the University of Cape Town for a BCom or Business Science degree.
