Head Boy 2025. Like we did in past years, schoolsthatrock chat to the Head Leaders of High Schools in South Africa. Today we talk to Jason Hiepner, Head Boy 2025 of Creston College, Oslo Beach KwaZulu Natal.
“As Head Boy 2025, I’m looking forward to make a positive impact, bringing the students together, and leaving the school better than I found it.
My personal goals for my leadership year is to Grow as a leader and stay organized. I want to boost school spirit and improve communication between students and staff.
The qualities of my school that stand out most is the sense of community and the people here are supportive and really care about each other.
Adjustments/changes that I would like to see happen at my school is that I’d love to see more students leading events. Maybe even more students taking initiative to improve school life and commitment.
Persuading someone to make our school their choice of school, I would say that I have attended many schools in my lifetime and that there is truly nowhere that has felt more like home than Creston College.
Strongest leadership trait
I would say my strongest leadership trait is that I’m a good listener and make sure everyone feels heard before making decisions.
I will get collaboration (commitment) from your team by valuing everyone’s ideas, setting clear goals, as well as keeping things fun so people want to be involved.
The person I look up to most, is my dad. He is strong, a leader and always knows how to handle tough situations.
I daydream about my future travels and adventures, travelling and experiencing what the world has to offer.
My favourite dish is Sushi! You just can’t beat it.
If I were a kitchen article I would be a wooden spoon. I like stirring things up (in a good way) and bringing people together.
Studying after school? I want to study in Cape Town – either Stellenbosch or UWC in the medical field to try help those who are struggling and suffering.”
