
Grey Cricket Festival 2025. Grey College played host to the Grey Cricket Festival 2025. Ten of the country’s leading cricket schools participated in the festival which started on Thursday 9 January with two-day matches.
On Saturday, 11 January, the focus shifted to the limited overs format, with all the teams playing in 50-over matches. The festival concluded on Sunday with fiercely contested T20 matches. This festival is unique in the sense that teams traditionally play all formats.
The following schools participated in this year’s Grey Festival: Glenwood High School, Namibian Invitation XI, Northwood, Paarl Boys’ High, Volkies Potch, Jeppe High School, Selborne College, Hoërskool Menlopark, St Andrews School Bloemfontein
Grey College
- The Grey College 1st XI did very well, winning all their matches.
Two-day match vs Selborne College:
- Selborne 1st innings 128 all out.
- Daniel Hattingh made his mark with 3/13, and Otto Krause 3/19.
- Grey College 1st innings 267 all out.
- With the bat, Christian Kind hammered 48 runs and Jaco Prinsloo 41.
- Selborne 2nd innings 172 all out.
- Edrich Hanekom was fierce in the bowling with 3/16, and Sicelo Matayi 3/33.
- Grey College 2nd innings 35/1
- Grey College 1st XI won by 9 wickets
50-over match vs Glenwood:
- Glenwood 86 all out.
- Edrich Hanekom 2/10, and Lamla Mgedezi 2/13 did not disappoint with the bowling.
- Grey College 87/2.
- Christian Kind made sure of 24 (22 balls) runs on the scoreboard and Henru de Wet 20* (39 balls).
- Grey College 1st XI won by 8 wickets

- Grey College 253/7 (50 overs)
