Grade 7 Crown Ceremony. This week, St Mary’s DSG Kloof, Durban, held their annual Grade 7 Crown Ceremony on Monday. This is a touching tradition symbolising the passing of leadership from the Grade 7 girls to our Grade 6 girls.
The Grade 7s crafted intricate flower crowns, each bloom representing the unique qualities of their younger counterparts. Once these were handed over, the Grade 7 girls walked the symbolic path to high school while the Grade 6 girls, adorned with their flower crowns, entered the Grade 7 block through the traditionally exclusive Grade 7 door, signifying their ascent to leadership roles.
This special event celebrated the achievements of the departing class, whilst instilling pride and responsibility in the Grade 6s, creating lasting memories and fostering a sense of unity within the school community.
