GLENWOOD HIGH SCHOOL RUGBY DINNER 2018
The Glenwood 1st XV Rugby Team and coaches hosted a Rugby Dinner on Friday 21 September in the School Hall. This dinner, a Celebration of Excellence, was a good evening that was well attended.
Old boy Brendon Liebenberg was the Master of Ceremonies. His recently published book, CAPTAINS AND COACHES, were available for purchase. This book was co-authored by Nick Mallet with insights from four former Springbok Captains; John Smit, Victor Matfield, Jean de Villiers and Fourie du Preez, it is a life manual for coaches, players and business leaders.
The guest speaker at this event was South African former rugby union player and former chief executive officer of the Sharks, John Smit.
Durban born stand-up comedian Carvin Goldstone, one of South Africa’s only 100% clean stand-up comics entertained the guests. With two comedy show awards and two sold-out one-man comedy shows it’s not hard to figure out that Carvin has managed to carve a niche for himself in the South African comedy scene.
Peppers and Pans not only sponsored our 24 1st XV rugby boys to enjoy this wonderful event with the guests, but they also did not disappoint serving the guests a delectable three-course meal.
