schoolsthatrockGlenwood High School in Durban did the workshop which was run by the Durban Director and Choreographer, Daisy Spencer, who is part of the Young Performers’ Production team.
The workshop is excellent for all future movement pieces which is part of the boys’ practical requirements for each year. Daisy taught the boys the specialised techniques designed to create the illusion of physical combat, armed or unarmed without causing harm to the performer.
The boys went through a warmup, safety rules, hand to hand combat, sword fighting, slaps and rumbles.
The boys walked away very well equipped with the tools for choreographing their own action packed dramatic movement pieces.
