Exceptional 2025 motorsport. 🏆 Maritzburg College Celebrates Damon Garrell’s Exceptional 2025 Motorsport Season.

Maritzburg College proudly announces the outstanding achievements of Damon Garrell, who has delivered an exceptional motorsport season in 2025 while racing with the Trademore Sherco team.

Garrell set ambitious goals at the start of the year: to win a national title, compete internationally, conquer the Gold Roof of Africa, and earn his Protea Colours. Against all odds, he achieved every one of these milestones, cementing his place among South Africa’s rising motorsport stars.

Key Results

• 1st Place – SA National Hard Enduro Silver
• 2nd Place – SA National Enduro
• 1st Place – KZN Regional Cross Country

🌍 International Success

Representing South Africa at the Sea to Sky race in Turkey, Garrell finished 22nd overall and 6th in the Junior category. He then tackled the legendary Roof of Africa, completing the demanding Gold category and securing 19th place. In doing so, he became the youngest Gold finisher of 2025, a landmark achievement in the sport.

National Honour

On 30 November 2025, Garrell was awarded his Protea Blazer, the highest honour in South African motorsport, in recognition of his dedication, skill, and national pride.
