Ashleigh Moolman Pasio (old girl) And sometimes against all odds, against all logic, we still have hope.
Yesterday although the course suited me well, I felt really good and I was doing everything right … the truth is the odds were all against me. Starting with only 2 out of a potential 6 riders, which meant our team car was relegated to car 27 in the convoy and shared with 3 other countries … everything had to go perfectly for me to be able to stand a chance.
Despite all of this I started the race with hope … with the hope that I could realise my potential and make my country proud. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be … another rider came into a technical corner too fast and took me out. Thankfully I didn’t crash hard, but it was at the a decisive moment in the race when the pace was full gas. Sometimes it’s hard to understand why life can be so unfair. But through it all it’s important to never loose hope … because hope is what brings our dreams to life! @dwlpowell
