English Debating. 🗣️ Grey College English Debating achievements.
Congratulations to all who participated in the Bloemfontein Debating Association League. The junior team reached the quarter-finals, while the senior team advanced to the semi-finals before being narrowly defeated by St Andrew’s.
Grey College proudly secured 6 of the Top 10 Speaker Rankings:
- 1st & Overall Best Speaker: Zaheed Henney
- 2nd: Thomas Schoeman
- 4th: Bandile Makoka
- 5th: Owethu Mashibini
- 7th: Sechaba Moeti
- 9th: Bereng Nkopane
👏 Special congratulations to Bophelo Mofolo, who placed 2nd overall in the junior speaker division.
🎤 Well done to Onthatile Mogashoa and Thomas Schoeman (Grade 12) for qualifying for the finals of the Bloemfontein Debating Association Public Speaking Competition, taking place on 15 August 2025. We wish you the very best!

Baie geluk aan almal wat aan die Bloemfonteinse Debatsvereniging liga deelgeneem het. Die junior span het tot die kwart-eindronde deurgedring, en die senior span het die half-eindrondte gehaal, maar teen St Andrew’s verloor.
Grey het met trots 6 van die Top-10 Sprekerranglys-posisies verwerf:
- 1ste & Algehele Beste Spreker: Zaheed Henney
- 2de: Thomas Schoeman
- 4de: Bandile Makoka
- 5de: Owethu Mashibini
- 7de: Sechaba Moeti
- 9de: Bereng Nkopane
👏 Baie geluk aan Bophelo Mofolo, wat die 2de plek algeheel in die junior spreker-afdeling behaal het.
🎤 Welgedaan aan Onthatile Mogashoa en Thomas Schoeman (Graad 12), wat deurgedring het na die finaal van die Bloemfonteinse Debatsvereniging se redenaarskompetisie, wat op 15 Augustus 2025 gehou sal word. Ons wens julle alle sterkte toe!
