This week, the PR3s enjoyed a fantastic day filled with water and sensory play. Water and sand are important natural materials which provide hours of absorbing fun and a multitude of wonderful developmental and learning opportunities.
Sensory learning aims to stimulate children’s senses in multiple ways and enourages them to use their senses to learn new things.
Children use their senses to explore and try to make sense of the world around them. They do this by touching, tasting, smelling, seeing, moving and hearing. Sensory play helps language, development, cognitive growth, fine motor skills and gross motor skills, problem solving skills and social interactions.
