Easter Rugby Festival 2026. Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival 2026 – Day 1, Match 3: Westville Boys’ High vs Framesby
Westville Boys’ High, Westville, KZN, made a statement in their opening clash at the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival 2026, dismantling Framesby, Gqeberha, 83–0 in a display of pace, precision, and power.
The Griffins struck within minutes when jet-shoed fullback Avumile Lisa raced clear for a long-range try, setting the tone for a dominant performance. Unbeaten at KERF in 2025, Westville’s confidence was evident as they tore holes in the Gqeberha side’s defense.
A brilliant counterattack soon opened space on the right, and Lisa’s clever grubber inside was perfectly gathered by lock Warren Murray, who dotted down for Westville’s second. Flyhalf Jade-Will Koopman added the extras for a 12–0 lead inside 10 minutes.
Westville’s cohesion between forwards and backs was striking, their speed relentless. Framesby had a half-chance when a kick ahead caused panic, but a knock-on denied them. In the set pieces, however, Westville’s dominance was clear, forcing Framesby backwards in the scrums.
Just before halftime, inside center Curtis Fenton powered over from close range to make it 17–0 at the break.
The second half was one-way traffic. Ezra Karolisin scored early after showing great awareness to play on when not held in a tackle, and Koopman’s superb touchline conversion stretched the lead. Soon after, No. 8 Lwandle Makhanya stormed through to create space for SA Schools flyer Jadrian Afrikaner, who finished clinically. Koopman converted again: 31–0.
From there, the floodgates opened. Lisa added his second, Makhanya crossed after a strong run, and Afrikaner completed a hat-trick with dazzling pace and sharp passing combinations. Lisa Sijadu joined the party with two tries, while hooker Rorke Stirk powered over from a driving maul off a 50–22 lineout.
Even when Framesby finally reached Westville’s try line, they were punished. Replacement Levi Allan broke clear, slipped, but popped to Lisa, who completed his hat-trick. Koopman’s ninth successful conversion capped a masterclass in accuracy from the boot.
The final scoreline read Westville 83–0, a ruthless performance that showcased their speed, precision, and execution. Framesby simply had no answers.
