Treverton College, Mooi River, proudly celebrates student-athlete Jason Reineke, who was presented with the prestigious Laurel Award in recognition of his outstanding performance in Duathlon — a discipline that demands both endurance and determination.
The Laurel Award is conferred either as Junior Honours or as Honours for achievements in sports not included in Treverton’s extra-curricular offering. Jason’s selection reflects his remarkable achievements on the provincial and national stage.
Jason recently placed:
- Top 100 overall in the Amashova Classic
- 3rd overall and 1st in his age group at the KwaZulu-Natal Duathlon Championships
- 5th overall and 4th in age group at the South African Duathlon Championships

Beyond duathlon, Jason has earned half-colours for cross-country and plays an integral role on Treverton’s mountain biking (MTB) team, showing his versatility and endurance across multiple terrains.
