Dodgeball African Cup. Four Camps Bay High School learners were selected to represent South Africa at the Dodgeball African Cup of Nations. They were playing against Egypt in the tournament held over the school holidays at Somerset College. All four learners, Tristan Cubitt, Reece De Beer, Cameron Holtman and Jodie Pearce, played for the U16 Mixed Team. Jodie Pearce was the Captain of the team.
Jodie also played for the U21 SA Ladies Team and was part of the first team to beat Egypt in Dodgeball. Both teams played exceptionally well, against the fiercely competitive Egyptian teams.
Well done to Jodie who was also named Most Valuable Player for the U16 Mixed Team! Darren Abrahams, the U16 Coach complimented the Camps Bay High School students participating in the tournament on their excellent performance. “On court, the players were fierce competitors. Off the court many friendships and bonds were formed with the Egyptian players. These young people have made the Dodgeball community proud with their hard work, sacrifice and achievements in preparation for the tournament and on game days.”
