Curro’s Grantleigh School. The JSE-listed independent school group Curro Holdings is pleased to announce the appointment of Dirk van Zyl. Dirk is the new executive head of the Curro-owned Grantleigh School in Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal.
Dirk is an accomplished and highly regarded educational leader. He has more than thirty years of teaching experience. He has spent more than twenty years in senior leadership roles. Grantleigh learners, along with their parents and teachers will be reassured to know that Dirk is already a well-respected member of the Curro family. Dirk has been the executive head of Curro Durbanville in Cape Town from 2012 to 2022. During his decade long tenure, he consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills. He has also successfully managed the growth and development of the school, transforming it into a state-of-the-art mega campus. Before this, he spent another decade as the headmaster at Garsfontein High School in Pretoria.

As a Curro Select School, Grantleigh offers high-quality education for learners from the age of 3 to Grade 12, with smaller than average class sizes and an enhanced IEB curriculum. The highly regarded school attracts learners from far and wide, and also offers a bus service to help transport learners from areas like Monzi, St Lucia, Empangeni, Mtunzini, Mtubatuba, Hluhluwe and Kwambonambi. In a bid to make things easier for several out-of-town learners, the school also has a weekly and termly boarding house where learners can stay.
