Curro Aurora Shavathon. Curro Aurora thank all their students, parents and staff for taking part in this year’s shavathon. The entire school was buzzing with excitement as the spray cans were unpacked, the ribbons laid out and the clippers plugged in. The school also had a fantastic day with learners across the school joining in on the fun, and truly getting involved.
With all the combined efforts, Curro Aurora also raised a record-breaking amount for the Cancer Association of South Africa. The representative also informed the school that this year they have raised the most money thus far from a single Shavathon.
The support the school has shown is beyond their wildest imagination and they could not be happier with the outcome. On top of that they also had a whopping 26 students and staff shave their heads to show their solidarity. Six students and one staff member also cut off their ponytails. These ponytails will be used to make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy. The spirit of excellence was felt by everyone on the Curro Aurora Campus.
Curro Aurora must also say a big thank you to the local hair salon, Dis ‘se Moet, who spent four hours on the school campus shaving heads and cutting off pony tails. The school appreciate their support for this great cause.
