Over the weekend, three of Curro Durbanville High School’s exceptional learners showcased their brilliant chess skills at the Western Cape Chess Inter-regional tournament held in the picturesque Mossel Bay.
Amahle Zenzile and Natasha Joubert shined bright at the chess tournament as they both secured board prizes. Amahle displayed extraordinary prowess, achieving a remarkable score of 3.5 out of 4. These two chess prodigies represented the women’s team, which fought valiantly and ultimately claimed the second-place podium.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Zanté Palmer proved to be unstoppable in the Junior Girls category. Her team triumphed over the competition and secured the prestigious 1st place title! Zanté, a true chess maestro, demonstrated her mastery by achieving a perfect score and winning a board prize as well.
