Applications and Programming Olympiad. Michaelhouse Learner Tops KwaZulu-Natal in National Olympiad, Advances to Finals.
Michaelhouse is proud to announce that Roelof Rossouw has qualified for the finals of the Applications and Programming Olympiad. This olympiad is one of South Africa’s most prestigious competitions in digital problem-solving and computer science.
Roelof distinguished himself in the second round of the Olympiad by placing first in KwaZulu-Natal. Roelof is outperforming hundreds of learners across the province. His remarkable performance reflects both his technical acumen and his commitment to excellence in the digital domain.
The Olympiad, hosted annually by the South African Computer Olympiad initiative, challenges learners to solve real-world problems using tools such as spreadsheets, databases, and programming languages. Roelof’s success in both the Applications and Programming categories highlights his versatility and depth of understanding in computational thinking.

Roelof will now represent Michaelhouse and KwaZulu-Natal in the national finals, where South Africa’s top young technologists will compete for top honors.
