schoolsthatrockSingapore Maths model. St Charles College Grade 4 boys had a fun lesson with the Head of our Senior Primary, Mr Brett Sliedrecht, exploring the Singapore Maths model method – bar modelling – which provides the boys with a powerful tool for solving word problems.
The boys learnt about CPA which stands for the Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract approach as an effective way to develop an understanding of Maths. It was an interactive lesson with the boys working in groups, using their whiteboards and blocks to solve word problems.
St Charles thank you to Mr Sliedrecht for taking the time to share his knowledge with our boys, they thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to more workshops in the future. – Mrs Kelli Howells
