Sportvrou van die jaar – Donna le Roux aangewys

Sportvrou van die jaar. Donna le Roux is Vrydag, 23 September aangewys as Sportvrou van die Jaar. Dit het gebeur op die Vrystaatse Sporttoekenningsgeleentheid van die Free State Sports Confederation. Sy het die toekenning ontvang vir haar tennisprestasies. Daar was 16 benoemdes in die afdeling en Donna het met die trofee en ʼn kontantprys weggestap. 

Hoër Meisieskool Oranje se swemspan was een van die vier benoemdes in die afdeling Skolesportspan van die Jaar. Dit is vir die span se prestasies in die Toptienskole-kompetisie. Die span was ook die wenner van die Vrystaatse interhoërswemgala. Hul prestasies in die Midmarmyl-opewaterswem het ook bygedra tot hul prestasie.

Louzanne Coetzee, mev. Coetzee (Engels-onderwyseres van Oranje) se dogter, is as die Gestremde Sportvrou van die Jaar aangewys. Haar twee gidse Claus Kempen en Estean Badenhorst is ook vereer.

Die sportmense en spanne word deur hul provinsiale affiliasies vir die toekennings benoem. Die finaliste en wenners in elke afdeling word deur ‘n paneel van die Free State Sport Confederation aangewys.

Sportswoman of the year 

Donna le Roux was named Sportswoman of the Year. It happened at the Free State Sports Awards ceremony of the Free State Sports Confederation on Friday, 23 September. She received the award for her tennis achievements. There were 16 nominees in the division and Donna walked away with the trophy and a cash prize.

Oranje Girls High School’s swim team was also one of the four nominees in the School Sports Team of the Year division. This is for the team’s achievements in the Top Ten Schools competition. They were also the winner of the Free State Inter-High Swimming Gala. Furthermore it was for their achievements in the Midmarmyl Open Water Swim.

Louzanne Coetzee, Mrs. Louzanne Coetzee’s (English teacher from Orange) daughter was also named the Handicapped Sportswoman of the Year. Her two guides Claus Kempen and Estean Badenhorst were also honored.

The sports people and teams are nominated for the awards by their provincial affiliates. The finalists and winners in each division are also named by a panel of the Free State Sport Confederation.
