Bergran Jensen Curro Windhoek – Schools That Rock chats to Bergran

Bergran Jensen Curro Windhoek. It is a priviledge for Schools That Rock to ask a few questions to Bergran Jensen, Head Boy 2022 of Windhoek Gymnasium Curro in Namibia.

Questions:

How do you see your role as head leader of Windhoek Gymnasium Curro?

To set an example to my peers and to appreciate my system of values. Furthermore, to promote and show pride of my school. To be informed and adaptable to accommodate and support my school community.

Do you think the measures taken by the government in respect of Covid-19 for schools are justified?

I do not think anybody had much choice in this respect. In retrospect it seemed to have worked as the infection and death rate came down.

Who do you look to for inspiration and mentorship?

I usually ask my mother for mentorship as well as our Farm manager as both of them have stuck with me through tough situations. They both also inspire me!

Which field of study do you intend pursuing after school?

I am looking at going to the German Police and doing my Rotary Pilots license as well as studying aeronautical engineering through them.

Do you think that Namibian schools offer you sufficient opportunities for the field of study you intend to pursue? Why?

Yes, our curriculum offers us many opportunities and is run on very high standards.

Do you think participation in sport should be made compulsory in schools?

I think participating in sports should be obligatory.  Not only does it keep your body and mind healthy, but builds character.  It also teaches you to deal with different characters.

What did you enjoy most during your school career?

I enjoy spending my time with my friends and meeting new people. I also enjoy my sport (cycling) and spending time with my family.

Are you 100% sure of the field of study you contemplate pursuing after school? Please explain your answer.

I am not completely sure yet. I have many interests so it is still difficult for me to decide. However I definitely want to go into the engineering direction.

Which University will you attend next year?

Still looking at my options but most probably somewhere in Germany.
