schoolsthatrockSutherland learner Star at ‘Redenaars’. Suthies are immensely proud of their Grade 12 learner, Heather Good, who placed in the Top 10 in Gauteng and then placed Top 20 in South Africa at the ATKV Redenaars Competition in the “Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal” division.
Heather’s topic was “Enige mens met murg in sy pype sal sê “Genoeg is Genoeg”. Her speech focused on the many forms abuse including physical, emotional and probably the least spoken about form of abuse which is neglect of those who are not able to fend for themselves. She further went on to highlight how Covid-19 isolation has increased the severity of abuse when there are no witnesses.
Suthies applaud Heather for raising awareness and addressing these important issues facing so many members of sosiety.
