“I first started playing hockey in grade 1.
I’m currently playing as a midfielder but I’m also a striker. I was vice captain of my u14 hockey team.
The team has fitness practices twice a week where I get in a lot of my cardio. I do my strength and resistance training at home twice during the week on the days I don’t have fitness training and try to run 5km every Saturday if we don’t have matches. Sundays and Thursdays are my recovery days.
I don’t do any other sports currently but I used to do ballet.
I prefer team sports. I love the spirit that is created among the players and how it introduces you to people you may not have had the chance to meet before.
I feel it is my duty to lead my team to be the best they can be, to reach their full potential and to constantly encourage them to work harder. I plan to continue with hockey after school. I would like to play for UCT or Stellenbosch hockey and one day play at the Varsity Cup.”
