Schools That Rock chat to Eunice High School’s Chess Captain

It is a priviledge for Schools That Rock to introduce Eunice Hich School’s Chess Captain, Abigail de Klerk, to the visitors of our website.

“I started playing chess at 9 years old. I currently play board 1, I have played board 5 and board 6 before.

I play chess games daily and our team does puzzles together and practices weekly. I prefer individual sports.

I want to keep the team motivated (and practicing), especially now that meeting up in person and playing against each other and in tournaments is made more difficult due to Covid.

I do not want to continue professionally, but I am not going to stop playing chess once I am out of school. It is one of my favourite pastimes – I am not giving it up anytime soon.
