Schools That Rock chat to Devon Milne

Schools That Rock asked a few questions to Devon Milne, Head Boy of Paul Roos Gymnasium.

Question: What do you look forward to most when the 2021 school year starts? I am most excited to feel the Paul Roos atmosphere again and see the fire burn again between the boys.

Question: Are there any changes or adjustments you would like to see happen at your school? At the moment, I would not want to change anything.

Question: If you had to make a statement to convince someone that your school is the right choice, what would that statement be?  Besides the amazing culture and the traditions that has lasted countless of years, the relationships between the boys, teachers and the community cannot be found anywhere else. These are the people who shape you into the person you are today. Paul Roos is the place where memories are made and where friends become family.

Question: Who would you consider to be your role model at your school? I have many different role models in different aspects, regarding personality traits. Mr. Muth is one of my role models because of his determination in his rugby and wanting us to become better players. Ms. Stofberg is also one of my role models because she will always keep her word. Mr. van Staden is also definitely one of my role models in the school because of his amazing leadership and the standard he tolerates.

Question: Which sport activity offered at your school is your favourite? Rugby

Question: What is your favourite meal? A well-braaied steak.

Question: Which career choices are you considering after school? I would like to go into an Accounting direction after school.

Question: Which university do you want to attend next year? I would like to study at Maties next year.

Question: Do you have a message for your fellow pupils for 2021? This year is going to be an abnormal year but regardless of the circumstances, we need to make the best of it and keep a positive mindset. As our motto for 2021 states: “Acta non Verba”, let your actions speak for yourself and don’t settle for the ordinary.
