My name is Heritance Mathebula. I am in Grade 12, Milner House. I started at St Andrew’s in Grade 8. My fondest memory is of the initiation week spent with the Matrics when I was in Grade 8. There was something beautiful about enjoying water slides with people you viewed as role models! St Andrew’s taught me to be more accepting and understanding of everyone’s differences, and the importance of not compromising your identity and personality in order to be accepted by others. My words of advice for the younger Andreans: It is important to not allow failure and disappointment to define your ability and potential to achieve any milestone you set for yourself; and you must realize that you make the decision about how you are affected by things – whether it be positive or negative. After school, I would like to go into research in biological sciences, specifically genetics, or alternatively study Accounting.
