Harem Pelser en Nico Steenkamp
Credo Gastehuis in Bloemfontein het vanoggend hul gastehuis aan SANBS beskikbaar gestel vir mense van die omgewing wat wil bloed skenk.
Harem Pelser, eienaar van Credo Gastehuis en Nico Steenkamp was onder die mense wat bloed geskenk het. Nico het ook aangedui dat hy ‘n dubbel rooisel skenker in Bloemfontein wil word. Natalie Booysen (Donor Relation Practitioner) en Abel Ntlhokoe Donor Recruiter) van SANBS het die skenkers bygestaan.
Harem Pelser daag alle gastehuise uit om sy voorbeeld te volg deur bloed te skenk. Daar is tans ‘n groot tekort aan alle bloedgroepe in Suid-Afrika en die SANBS doen ‘n dringende beroep op die publiek om bloed te skenk. Elke eenheid bloed kan ‘n lewe red. About the International Blood Donor Day, 14 June
Every year on 14 June, countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). The event, established in 2004, serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood. World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year on the day of birthday anniversary of Karl Landsteiner on 14 June 1868. World Blood Donor Day celebrations bring a precious opportunity to celebrate donors on a national and global level, as well as, to commemorate the birthday of Karl Landsteiner (a great scientist who won the Nobel Prize for his great discovery of the ABO blood group system).
