St John’s D.S.G. Grade 8 girls, Eliana Hoctor, Caitlyn Peckham and Jordyn Govender wear their construction hats for Orientation, in line with the Prefects’ theme for 2020: BUILD[H]ER. Head girl, Ntando Dube, says, “We need to build one another up, because empowered women empower women. Ultimately, we’re motivating our St John’s D.S.G. “sisters” to defy societal stereotypes (which expect us to compete, be envious of and tear each other down) by choosing the contrary: to uplift one another.”
