Victoria-Anne Robinson-Monteiro, a grade 1 pupil at St Andrew’s School for Girls, participated in a number of
competitions with free dance and rope during the month of June. She finished in 2nd place for free dance and 7th for rope resulting in being a gold medalist overall in her age group.
Victoria-Anne was then chosen to represent Prima Rythmic Gymnastics Club at the Central Gauteng Competitions where she finished in 3rd place and received a gold medal overall along with her Central Gauteng Junior Colours for Rythmic Gymnastics – Level 1.
She qualified to represent Gauteng at Nationals at the Zone festival in Kibler Park, on the 23rd of June where she competed against 58 girls in her age category from all over South Africa and finished in 1st place for free dance and combined with rope, 12th place. She was a gold medallist overall.
Victoria-Anne went on to finish as a gold medalist overall at the inter-provincials for artistic gymnastics and represented Gauteng in Pietermaritzburg on the 16th June 2018 where she placed highest score for Vault and Floor and 2nd highest score for Beam and Bar – and won 2nd overall Gold in her category. There were a total of 39 girls in her age group.
