This Saturday, Zoe Prinsloo, grade 11, was presented with her Protea Award at our Regional AGM!
To earn the Protea Award has taken years of dedication and hard work.
She had to work through the Ranger programme and earn 9 Clauses over 8 Adventures, totalling 72 clauses!!
Over and above that, to earn the Protea Award she had to complete a further 5 things:
- Run a Regional event
- Complete a one year community service project
- Give an oral presentation to a non-guiding group
- Earn her Ranger Campers permit which involved planning and running an outdoor camp for her crew. This included finding and booking a venue, planning the entire programme for the weekend, budget and catering, and knowing all the rules, regulations and paperwork involved.
- Interview with the regional panel to discuss her guiding career.
At the Bothasig AGM last night she was also presented with 2 more prestigious awards for 2018:
Community Service Award “in recognition for her outstanding contribution and commitment to serving her community and the environment” and Ranger of the Year 2018 “in recognition for her outstanding progress, achievements and overall contribution to The Bothasig Ranger Crew”
Well done, Zoe!!
