Fairmont High School, Cape Town, has once again etched its name into the history books, with both its First Team Boys and Girls crowned Belgotex Easter Hockey Tournament Champions for the second consecutive year.
Boys Final: Fairmont vs York High School
In a gripping showdown, Fairmont’s boys faced York in a contest defined by resilience and determination. Both teams delivered outstanding performances, with goalkeepers standing tall to keep the scoreline level deep into the match. The breakthrough came courtesy of Ryan Groenewald, whose clinical strike proved decisive. Holding their composure under immense pressure, the boys secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory and successfully defended their title.
Girls Final: Fairmont vs Stellenberg High School
The girls’ final brought a thrilling Northern Suburbs derby against Stellenberg. Played at a relentless pace, the match saw chances at both ends before Fairmont seized the moment in the closing stages. A composed finish under pressure sealed the win, ensuring the girls joined their male counterparts in lifting the trophy for the second year running.
A Stage Worthy of Champions
With Hartleyvale providing a spectacular stage and an electric atmosphere, both finals showcased the very best of school hockey. The passion, skill, and determination on display reflected the spirit of Fairmont High School—champions in every sense of the word.
