Easter Rugby Festival 2026 – Glenwood High vs Framesby

Easter Rugby Festival 2026. Day two, match four.

The first Saturday afternoon clash at KERF carried high stakes. For Framesby, it was about redemption after their bruising defeat to Westville Boys’ High on Thursday. For Glenwood, beaten by Helpmekaar in their opener, it was a chance to lift their loyal Durban supporters.

From the opening whistle, Framesby showed renewed urgency, but the Green Machine met them head-on in a hard-hitting contest. Both sides were eager to run the ball, yet equally determined to shut down space with uncompromising defence.

Framesby fly-half Miles Feltham settled early nerves with a crisply struck penalty in the seventh minute. This was no repeat of Thursday’s collapse—the Gqeberha outfit was up for the fight. Midway through the half, outside center Reon Saaiman produced a deft grubber that sent left wing Jaco George racing clear to score. At 8–0, Framesby had momentum.

Glenwood absorbed wave after wave of pressure, holding firm until halftime. Feltham’s second penalty attempt drifted wide, leaving Framesby ahead at the break.

The Green Machine struck back swiftly after the restart. Fullback Rosco Williams countered from deep, slicing through defenders before releasing Lebohang Skosana for Glenwood’s first try. Vincenzo Loutz added the extras, narrowing the gap to one. Confidence surged, and soon inside center Jakub Bednar broke the line to set up flanker Andile Mbokazi for a well-deserved score. Another Loutz conversion gave Glenwood a 14–8 lead.

The crowd roared when hooker Tyler Leon charged half the length of the field, only to be held up over the line by a desperate tackle. Framesby seized the lifeline. Marching upfield, prop Handré Schnetler powered over from a quick tap penalty, and Feltham’s conversion swung the lead back to Framesby, 15–14.

With eight minutes left, Glenwood had a chance to reclaim the advantage, but Loutz’s long-range penalty drifted wide. As the clock expired, he lined up another effort from similar distance. This time, the kick fell short, sparking jubilant celebrations from Framesby—a morale-boosting victory carved out with grit and determination.
