School Boy Rugby. St Andrew’s College Rugby – Weekly Round-Up.
Last week was a busy and rewarding one for College, with School Boy Rugby. From Cape Town to Makhanda, the boys gave it their all. The U15B and U16B sides participated in the Western Rugby Festival, while the U14A, U15A, U16A, 2nd XV, and 1st XV traveled to Cape Town for the annual fixture against Bishops. On Saturday, the U14B, U15B, and 3rd XV teams hosted Kingswood on Lower Field.
The results were mixed, offering both challenges and valuable lessons. Fixtures of this nature are vital for the growth and development of our players. While success may not always be immediate, these experiences build character, resilience, and a determination to improve. We trust that these challenges will inspire our boys to work harder and return stronger.
The highlights of the week were the spirited performances of the 2nd XV and 1st XV against Bishops, with both teams producing excellent rugby in narrow defeats. At home, the U14B, U15B, and 3rd XV recorded convincing wins against Kingswood College, showcasing skill and teamwork.
The college extends its gratitude to all players and coaches for their continued effort and commitment. A special word of thanks goes to Mr. Searle, Mrs. Muirhead, Mrs. Renard, and Ms. Teyise for their invaluable assistance with the arrangements for the Bishops fixture.
