The Selborne College Rowing Club proudly represented East London at the South African Schools Rowing Championships, delivering a weekend of grit, determination, and memorable performances. Across all age groups, our oarsmen achieved personal bests and showcased the depth of talent within the club. Six crews qualified for A Finals – a remarkable reflection of the hard work and commitment shown throughout the season.

  • B Quad: Finished 22nd out of 42 crews.
  • A Quad: Reached the Semi-Final in 11th position but were unfortunately hampered by a racing breakage.
  • Octuple: Qualified for the A Final for the first time in four years, finishing 7th.

U15

  • B Quad: Placed 24th out of 33 crews.
  • A Quad: Finished 20th overall.
  • Octuple: Qualified for the A Final, securing 8th position.

U16

  • Coxed Four: Finished 10th overall.
  • Coxless Four: Achieved 7th place in their A Final.
  • Eight: Competed in the A Final, finishing 7th.

Open (U19)

Selborne entered three crews in the highly competitive Pair Oars event, which featured 39 crews across five heats:

  • Goodwin / Stolsie – 30th
  • Thompson / Krug – 18th
  • Scheepers / Bowie – 13th

Both the Coxed Four and Coxless Four qualified for their respective A Finals. The 1st Eight closed the weekend with a season-best time, narrowly missing out on an A Final berth by just one position.

Congratulations to all the oarsmen for a commendable season and for representing Selborne College with pride, resilience, and sportsmanship. Your achievements continue to inspire the Selborne community and strengthen our rowing tradition.
