SA Schools Rowing Championships. South African Schools Rowing Championships – Roodeplaat Dam, Pretoria (6–8 March 2026).
The Selborne College Rowing Club proudly represented East London at the South African Schools Rowing Championships, delivering a weekend of grit, determination, and memorable performances. Across all age groups, our oarsmen achieved personal bests and showcased the depth of talent within the club. Six crews qualified for A Finals – a remarkable reflection of the hard work and commitment shown throughout the season.
U14
- Single Scull: Zack Baisley placed 22nd out of 55 entries.
- B Quad: Finished 22nd out of 42 crews.
- A Quad: Reached the Semi-Final in 11th position but were unfortunately hampered by a racing breakage.
- Octuple: Qualified for the A Final for the first time in four years, finishing 7th.
U15
- B Quad: Placed 24th out of 33 crews.
- A Quad: Finished 20th overall.
- Octuple: Qualified for the A Final, securing 8th position.
U16
- Coxed Four: Finished 10th overall.
- Coxless Four: Achieved 7th place in their A Final.
- Eight: Competed in the A Final, finishing 7th.
Open (U19)
Selborne entered three crews in the highly competitive Pair Oars event, which featured 39 crews across five heats:
- Goodwin / Stolsie – 30th
- Thompson / Krug – 18th
- Scheepers / Bowie – 13th
Both the Coxed Four and Coxless Four qualified for their respective A Finals. The 1st Eight closed the weekend with a season-best time, narrowly missing out on an A Final berth by just one position.
