School Water Polo – St Andrew’s College outstanding performance

School Water Polo. Water Polo Warm-Up Matches.

St Andrew’s College, Mahanda (Grahamstown), hosted a series of warm-up water polo fixtures on Saturday, 1 January 2026.

The day began with several internal encounters: the 4th team overcame the 5th team, and the 2nd team defeated the 3rd team. Furthermore, the U15A side recorded a victory against the newly formed U14A team.

The 1st team played two competitive matches against Kingswood College and Pearson High School, winning both convincingly and producing encouraging passages of play. As we look ahead to this coming weekend’s St Andrew’s College Shield, the focus will be on tightening defensive structures and building on this strong start.

Both the 2nd and 3rd teams secured impressive wins against Graeme College Seniors, showcasing promising early-season form. The U15A team delivered a controlled and disciplined performance in their victory over Graeme Junior, though continued attention to fitness will be key as the season progresses. The U14A team enjoyed their first competitive outing against Graeme Junior, securing a pleasing win and marking a very positive beginning to their campaign.

St Andrew’s extends our sincere thanks to everyone who came out to support, to the boys who assisted with tabling, and to Nealynne and his team for preparing the pool so efficiently. We are also grateful to Mr Mark Evans and Mr Coel Trollip for their assistance with refereeing, as well as to the 1st team players who stepped in to officiate several matches.

We look forward to welcoming supporters this coming weekend as we host the St Andrew’s College Shield and continue our preparations for the season ahead.
