Junior Nationals Squash Championships. Clarendon High School for Girls Student Shines at National Squash Championships.
Clarendon High School for Girls is proud to announce that student Kate Van Biljon delivered an outstanding performance at the Growthpoint Junior Nationals Championships. It was held from August 14–16 at the iconic all-glass squash court at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
Despite being officially in the U15 category, Kate competed in the U17 division due to her birthday cut-off. She rose to the challenge with remarkable poise and determination. Kate also secured an impressive 4th place finish overall, competing against the top junior squash players in the country.
“This is an extraordinary achievement for Kate,” said a spokesperson from Clarendon High School. “Her courage to step up into an older age group as well as perform at such a high level is a testament to her talent, discipline, and competitive spirit.”

Adding to the prestige of the event, Kate was coached during the tournament by South Africa’s top ladies player, Alex Commins, and Clarendon alumna, Sacha West. Their mentorship also provided invaluable insight and inspiration throughout the competition.
Clarendon High School congratulates Kate on her success. They also celebrate her as a shining example of the school’s commitment to excellence in both academics and sport.
