K-Day Golf – Last Friday, the St Andrew’s College golf team took part in the annual K-Day golf fixture against Kingswood College at Belmont Golf Club.
Both schools entered 18 players, forming 9 fourballs for a competitive and exciting day. Players ranged from top performers to developing talent, creating a balanced and inclusive field. The event was spirited, with many boys knowing each other well and enjoying the camaraderie.
The format for the day was better-ball match play, both in the A and B divisions, which allowed players of varying handicaps to participate fairly. In this format, the team that wins the most holes wins the match. In the A-division, the school was represented by the top 8 players, and in their pairings, they performed exceptionally well with the following results:
- Ethan Bradfield and Jarryd Froy won 10 and 8.
- Daniel Patton and Ethan Malan won 10 and 8.
- Sebastian Steffny and Tom Lake won 8 and 6
- James Ponting and Callum Taggart won 5 and 3.
These results in the A-division saw College claim victory in all matches.
In the B-Division, the results were equally impressive with standout performances by the players.
The B-division results were as follows:
- Andaman Schierenberg and Digby Simpson won by 11 holes up.
- Stuart White and Josh Hinks also won by 11 holes up
- Kevin Turk and Nsofwa Kayula halved their match by 4, and we commend Nsofwa for an amazing 15-foot putt for a birdie that secured their draw.
Overall, College emerged victorious in the 2025 K-Day Golf fixture.
Well done to all the boys for their sportsmanship, spirit, and excellent results.
