Hudson Park High School. It’s Hudson Park High School’s honour to award Kara Batting – Cum Laude for Water Polo.
In Grade 8, a young Kara Batting stepped into the pool for her very first match with the first team. She was fearless, full of flair, and already showing sparks of brilliance. But it wasn’t just her talent that caught everyone’s attention…it was her hunger to grow.
Fast forward a few years, and Kara hasn’t just grown – she’s transformed. From early promise to polished performance, she became the kind of player who rises when the pressure is highest. Kara is calm, courageous, and absolutely clinical.
Whether it was topping the scoring charts at the U16 Inter-Provincial Tournament, netting 27 goals at the St Peter’s Tournament, or finishing as South Africa’s top scorer at the FINA U16 World Champs in Turkey. Kara made sure every opportunity counted.
She’s worn the green and gold with pride. She represented South Africa in both u16 and senior level u17 national teams. That’s not just impressive – that’s elite.
What actually makes her school proudest, is her leadership, humility and discipline. Kara is the kind of athlete who listens, learns, and lifts others around her. A true example of what it means to represent your school and your country.
