4th African Youth Games. St Andrew’s College Shines at the 4th African Youth Games. Galliano Boni has done South Africa proud, carrying the flag high at the 4th African Youth Games in Cairo.
In the Kata Division, Galliano delivered a masterful performance, advancing to the semifinals where he faced the eventual Algerian champion. His precision and composure earned him a bronze medal, a testament to his skill and dedication.
In Kumite, Galliano opened with strength and determination, defeating his Libyan opponent to secure a place in the semifinals. A heavy kick to the head early in the bout tested his resilience, and though he fought bravely, he narrowly missed out on the final. In the bronze-medal match, the SASCOC medical team made the difficult call to stop the fight due to a suspected concussion. While it was a tough moment, Galliano’s courage and sportsmanship shone through.
✨St Andrew’s is immensely proud of Galliano. Wearing the green and gold on the continental stage is already a remarkable achievement, and bringing home a medal is the ultimate bonus. His journey reflects the spirit of perseverance, discipline, and pride that defines St Andrew’s College.

Well done, Boy in Blue. Keep pushing, keep growing, keep shining — your story is only beginning, and the future is bright!
