2025 SA Olympiads. St Dominic’s Newcastle Primary School is celebrating an extraordinary achievement on the national stage!
At the 2025 South African Olympiads, which featured more than 110,000 learners from over 1,000 schools nationwide, St Dominic’s students secured multiple Top 15 positions across Mathematics, English, Coding, and Robotics.
Foundation Phase Excellence
Our youngest learners proved that brilliance begins early:
- Grade 1 Mathematics: Yize Ye, Kayden Douglas, and Isipho Dilizo placed 2nd nationally.
- Grade 2 Mathematics: Siwaphiwe Nkutha and Luca Schmidtke also secured 2nd place nationally.
- Grade 3 Mathematics: Babalwa Duma achieved 2nd place, with Mpilenhle Kubheka close behind in 3rd place.
Intermediate Phase Achievements
The momentum continued with outstanding performances:
- Grade 4 Mathematics: Gabriel Kiuvu ranked 4th nationally.
- Grade 4 English: Wandiswa Sitebe earned an impressive 3rd place.
Senior Phase Triumphs
The senior learners showcased exceptional talent and versatility:
- Grade 7 Coding & Robotics: Kiran Hattingh placed 2nd, while Shahmeer Badloo secured 5th nationally.
- Grade 7 Mathematics: Kiran Hattingh added to the triumph with a 3rd place finish.
