2024 Polocrosse World Cup. Lauren Heynes, Grade 12 student from St John’s DSG, attended the 2024 Polocrosse World Cup representing South Africa.
“I started playing polocrosse when I was four years old. My grandad and my dad played the sport, so I grew up watching them. I played my first test match for South Africa in 2017 at U14 level and have played several times since. The whole 2-weeks of the Polocrosse World Cup were just amazing, and it was a privilege to represent my country. It was great to see the support for South Africa, especially at last weekend’s final against Australia. It feels incredible to be world champions!” says Lauren Heynes.
The World Cup was held at Shongweni in July. Alongside Lauren, St John’s DSG is equally proud to have had Old Girl, Amy Cocker (Class of 2023) playing as well. South Africa ended the tournament victorious and are now three-time champions!
