St Charles College, Pietermaritzburg, hosted an open age group triangular with Michael house and Hilton College on Saturday 22nd July 2017.

Both teams started at a high tempo and it was St Charles College who came close to scoring in the 10th minute. Michaelhouse were also creating chances, but both teams weren’t clinical enough in front of goals. The score was goalless at half time with both teams playing some attractive football. It was St Charles College who started the better in the second half, but squandered three easy opportunities as the match ended 0-0.
St Charles College 1sts vs Hilton 1sts
In the SCC vs Hilton encounter, St Charles College were awarded a penalty after only seven minutes when a shot was deliberately palmed over the crossbar by the Hilton College centre back. A straight red card was shown to the player and Kameel Khan calmly stepped up a sent the goalkeeper the wrong way. Simiso Ngubane of St Charles College came close to scoring just before half time with a long range shot that hit the top of the cross bar. At half time St Charles led 1-0; the second half both sides seemed to lose structure and the match became scrappy with both teams struggling to keep possession and build. The final whistle blew with St Charles being well deserved 1-0 winners.
In the last game of the day, Michael house managed to beat Hilton 3-1.
