The challenge questions are aimed at conceptual knowledge, the application of knowledge in new situations, problem solving, reasoning and mathematical thinking. Both Zoë and Victor received Silver awards for the second round of the national challenge. Zoë was also one of only a handful of Junior participants from the Eastern Cape who made it through to the third round, chosen from the top 400 learners in South Africa.
