Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools. Curro Holdings is thrilled to announce the expansion of the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools (PMSS) programme to six additional schools in 2025, continuing its mission to ‘create the player of tomorrow’. With a total of 17 Curro schools now on board, the programme is driving a new era in youth soccer development across the country.
The schools set to benefit from the programme include Curro Academy Mbombela and Meridian Karino in Mpumalanga. Also Curro Academy Wilgeheuwel in Roodepoort, Meridian Rustenburg in North West and Meridian Karinoand Meridian Pinehurst in the Western Cape.
This expansion marks another milestone in Curro’s ongoing partnership with legendary football coach Pitso Mosimane, which began in January 2023. The group made history as South Africa’s first school group to collaborate with the illustrious coach launching PMSS at Curro Northern Academy in Polokwane and Curro Meridian Cosmo City in Roodepoort.
PMSS programme
Since partnering with Curro, the PMSS programme has also achieved remarkable success. Meridian Northern Academy in Polokwane recently is crowned the top soccer school in South Africa. The school’s Under-19 Boys team won the prestigious Kay Motsepe Schools Championship. The Under-13 Boys team, a part of the PMSS, secured an impressive third place. This outstanding achievement, hailed by Curro’s CEO, Cobus Loubser as one of the greatest milestones in the 25-year history of Curro’s sports teams. This underscores the programme’s effectiveness in cultivating elite soccer talent.
The arrival of the PMSS programme in the Western Cape marks a significant milestone. It offers learners at Curro Academy Sandown and Meridian Pinehurst exciting new opportunities. The programme is poised to make a meaningful impact on youth soccer development in the province. Furthermore it inspires young players and cultivating a competitive, skill-enhancing environment. The PMSS model provides a structured pathway for players aged 6 to 18. It guide them from grassroots development to high-performance training as they progress in their soccer journeys.

The PMSS programme is designed to guide young players to excel both on and off the field. With a team of federation-accredited coaches and a comprehensive training plan, the programme focuses on various pillars, including talent identification, school league integration, and high-performance training. The goal is to equip learners with the technical, intellectual, and social skills they need to compete at the highest levels of football.
