From there, the youngster, who is part of Team Legacy at the Legacy Martial Arts Academy in Hermanus was selected to represent the Overberg Kickboxing team at the Western Cape Kickboxing Championship earlier this year and his triumph continued. Coached by the talented Shihan Ruehan van Romburgh, Kayden not only secured victory in both divisions but also became a Double Western Cape Kickboxing Champion. This led him to the South African Kickboxing Championship in Ellisras. Demonstrating remarkable talent, Kayden secured first place in Point Fighting and second place in Continuous Fighting, earning him the title of South African champion in his division. His prowess and potential didn’t go unnoticed either, as he was selected to represent both the Presidents and National South African kickboxing teams.
“In a time where young athletes are proving that they’re more than just the future, Kayden Pool stands out as a beacon of hope and inspiration. His phenomenal journey reflects the power of passion, hard work, and dedication and everyone at Curro Hermanus is incredibly proud of his fantastic achievements,” comments Kobus Vermeulen, Executive Head at Curro Hermanus.
