Congratulations to Nicholas Horn who earned Cape Town district colours for competing in the district-wide gymnastics competition last weekend. He represented Gordons Gymnastics in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics category. Nick practises for an hour and a half twice a week at Gordons Gymnastics in Mowbray with his coach Nigel Jacobs. During school holidays and before big competitions he practises three times a week. For this competition, he competed on the parallel bars, the high bar, the vault and the floor. His favourite apparatus is the parallel bars. He has been doing gymnastics for three years and is now on level 4. He does hip-hop dance as well which helps with flexibility and the upper body strength required in gymnastics. Well done Nick, clearly your commitment is paying off.
