National Road Cycling Championships. Morgan Jones, Grade 10 learner from Curro Durbanville, participated in two cycling events during July. The National Road Cycling Championships was held in East London and consisted of a 20km Time Trial, Criterium, and a 60km Road Race.
After crashing on the first lap of the Criterium, Morgan had to borrow another cyclist’s bicycle to finish the race. With his unwavering dedication he went on to win the race, becoming the South African National Champion for the Criterium.
Thereafter, he participated at the annual Youth Festival in Oudtshoorn. He defended his national title in the Criterium Race, as well as placing fourth in the Road Race.
